The Sundarbans National Park is a National Park, Tiger Reserve, and a Biosphere Reserve located in the Sundarbans deltain the Indian state of West Bengal. Sundarbans South, East and West are three protected forests in Bangladesh. This region is densely covered by mangroveforests, and is one of the largest reserves for the Bengal tiger."
Up early again the next morning to drive for two hours south to Mongla. From there we were arranged on our own boat with a great set-up. Couches, food and drinks, guide, captain and chef. We went for a full day trip on the canals. It is a stunning landscape with fresh and saline water and the mangroove roots and green leaves. It is not allowed to live in the area. There are a few fishing villages in which one we were able to visit (see further). We spotted, deer, monkeys, dolphins, hunter birds, and some mud fish...
